The Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja has confirmed the kidnap of a person around Pegi community on Monday about 9pm, saying the police are on a manhunt to arrest the criminals.
DSP Anjuguri Manzah, the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Although he revealed the information is still sketchy, however, called on the community to remain calm as the police are doing their best to bring the culprits to book.
In his statement, we call on the public to be security conscious and always avail any useful information to the Police and other relevant security agencies on suspicious movements and activities within their communities that they are not comfortable with.
While reiterating the Command commitment in mitigating crime, he assured members of the public of the police determination to protect lives and property within the Federal Capital Territory, he advised the public to play their own side of the civic duty.
The Police stated that, like any other climes across the world, the country has its security challenges.
Although, a comprehensive analysis of crime statistics on major cities across the world indicate that Abuja has one of the lowest crime rates and remains irrefutably one of the safest capital cities in the world.
