The Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has yesterday warned all and sundry who are nursing intention to participate in the Sowore-planned “RevolutionNow” protest to stay clear of Rivers state.
Wike issued this statement through, Simeon Nwakaudu, the spokesperson to the governor. The statement reads, Rivers state is not part of the protest and whatever illegal agenda it sought to pursue.
The governor added, Rivers state does not subscribe to what ‘RevolutionNow’ protest represent and Rivers state cannot take part in it.
Subsequently, the governor being the chief security officer of the state has directed all security agencies in the state to arrest anybody involve in the protest and prosecute him/her.
Wike enjoined parents to ensure their wards are not being misled into participating in the illegal protest, to before warned is to before armed.
Local government council chairmen ware not left behind, the governor directed they should be on the watch out of any illegal gathering. Any suspected gathering should be dealt with squarely the governor added.
