The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai on Tuesday assured the troops of ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’ of a reviewed and enhanced welfare package in 2020, NAN reports.

 

He made the claims while on operational visit to the North-East.

Speaking during one of the visit in Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, the Army chief explained that the government had assured the Army of its commitment to the welfare of officers of the Armed forces as well as those of their families.

“I know the importance of this location and you have done your best in ensuring that the security here is maintained,” Buratai said.

“So let me commend you for the wonderful performance and the way you have conducted yourselves in OPLD.

Buratai appreciates the gallant, for decimating the Boko Haram terrorists and urged them to maintain it, noting that they must remain focused, disciplined and professional.

It would be recalled that Lt. General Buratai’s tour commenced with Adamawa State on 27th December 2019.
