The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has cancelled the planned military parade to commemorate the 26th Democracy Day, on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
President Bola Tinubu was initially scheduled to deliver a nationwide address at 7 a.m on Thursday but according to reports, President Tinubu would instead participate in a special joint session of the National Assembly at 12 noon on Thursday where he is expected deliver a speech on ‘Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms’.
This development was made known in a statement issued by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen.
