The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has launched an online portal under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (FMHUD), where Nigerians can report fraud-related activities in the real estate sector, submit evidence, and also track the progress of their complaints.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Ministry, stating that the portal is safe, user-friendly, and accessible via https://reports.fmhud.gov.ng/.
Speaking during the live presentation of the portal, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, said, “The Housing Fraud Detection and Reporting Portal provides a credible, safe, and transparent channel for Nigerians to report fraudulent practices, track cases, and help government take decisive action against culprits.
“Our goal is simple: a housing sector where Nigerians can invest and own homes with confidence, free from fear of fraud.
“This is how we will protect our people, restore trust, and move closer to the vision of safe, decent, and affordable housing for all.”
The deputy director and head of information and communication technology (ICT) department at FMHUD stated that the portal was developed in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
