Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, has denied reports circulating online claiming he issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) to release Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
This was made known in a statement signed by Tompolo’s media consultant, Paul Bebenimibo.
The statement reads in part, “We wish to state unequivocally that High Chief Ekpemupolo did not author or sanction the said publication. It is the handiwork of detractors attempting to discredit him because of his firm stance against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta region. These individuals have failed and will continue to fail, as Tompolo remains committed to eradicating oil theft and pipeline vandalism.”
Similarly, a pro-Bola Tinubu group known as PBAT Door To Door Movement stated that its Grand Patron, Tompolo, did not call for the release of Kanu.
The group said, “This claim is entirely baseless and the handiwork of desperate propagandists, fake news merchants, fifth columnists, and agents of disunity.”
