Following the protest that broke out at the University of Lagos last two weeks by, the Academic Staff Union of the University (ASUU). And the subsequent appointment of an ad-hoc committee by President Muhammadu Buhari, to investigate the matter and proffer solution. The Senate of the University of Lagos has finally settled for Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the Acting Vice-Chancellor.
All contenders were thrown into the ring for selection through balloting, Ogunsola emerged the preferred candidate that draw 135 votes against her opponent, Prof. Ben Oghojafor who scored 31 votes.
Oghojafor was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Management Services and also the first woman to occupy the office of the provost College of Medicine, the University of Lagos before her appointment as the DVC.
