In the states of Adamawa and Borno, troops from Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI have stepped up their efforts against Boko Haram. They have taken weapons and drones used to target security personnel, neutralize insurgents, and arrest collaborators. "Troops of Sector 4 under 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, a terrorist logistics supplier, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State," the military said in a statement released on Friday and signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, OPHK's Media Information Officer.
"One AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs" were among the items found on the suspect.
The suspect is being held while additional investigation is conducted.
Troops "neutralized a terrorist commander, Abdullahi Mafa, during an ambush operation around the Visik River line" in a different operation in Madagali Local Government Area. They also retrieved "an AK-47 rifle as well as a loaded magazine" from the rebel.
The statement added that troops also detained 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, a "terrorist collaborator and drone supplier responsible for supplying drones to the terrorists, which are subsequently locally armed and used against troops," in response to additional intelligence.
The fact that "two aerial drones, drone accessories, and 20 solar power banks" were among the items found demonstrated the militants' growing use of technology in their operations.
In other parts of Borno State, OPHK troops "neutralized a terrorist informant attempting to breach defensive positions and repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu," collaborating closely with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force.
These actions resulted in the recovery of logistical items.
All strikes are part of "sustained efforts to disrupt Boko Haram supply lines, restore security, and protect communities across the North-East region," the statement emphasized.
The troops were urged "to sustain the operational tempo" by the Military High Command, which also praised them for "their sacrifices and dedication in the fight against terrorism in the North East region."
