Kogi State government through its Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, has denied allegations that former governor; Yahaya Bello, Governor Usman Ododo and Senate President Godswill Akpabio are plotting to assassinate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Fanwo insisted that at any point in time, there was never any discussion suggesting neutralizing Natasha for whatever reason.
Natasha raised the allegation during her sallah homecoming while addressing he constituents members during a rousing welcome in her hometown in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State yesterday.
Although she revealed that the plot was not made public, the Nigeria Police Force has since been notified.
According to her, Akpabio initiated her recall process after allegedly promising former Governor Yahaya Bello of footing the bill.
Natasha further alleged that: “The second thing he said was that he will try and kill me. I didn’t make this public, but I have written to the IG of Police.
“Akpabio told Yahaya Bello that he should make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja that it should happen in my local community so that it will look as if it was the people that killed me here”.
Reacting, Fanwo, in an interview with Channels TV, said: “The governor (Ododo) and the senate president never discussed anything that the suspended senator (Natasha) is alleging but only existed in her immagination.
“There was no conversation to recall her, and there was no conversation to assassinate her.”
