The Nigerian Air Force has approved the redeployment of numerous senior officers to critical command and staff roles as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and align its structure with the leadership vision of Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the new Chief of Air Staff. Nineteen officers obtained new appointments, while six others were assigned to various defense and inter-service enterprises.
In a statement released on Friday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the latest restructuring in the Nigerian Air Force was designed to enhance decision-making, improve coordination across units and commands, and boost operational readiness in tackling prevailing security challenges.
According to the new postings, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdullahi has been appointed Chief of Policy and Plans, while AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun takes over as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna. AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye was named Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited Group of Companies.
Similarly, AVM Precious Amadi now serves as Chief of Operations, AVM Nnamdi Ananaba as Chief of Air Intelligence, AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe as Superintendent of Standards and Evaluation, and AVM Ahmed Dari as Chief of Training. The Transformation and Innovation Branch will now be headed by AVM Mohammed Ibrahim.
The statement further noted that several other senior officers—including AVMs Ahmed Bakari, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammed Suleiman, Jibrin Usman, and Japheht Ekwuribe—have been deployed to various defense and inter-service establishments to enhance joint operational efficiency.
The redeployment exercise came a day after the Chief of the Air Staff assumed office and closely followed a similar top-level reshuffle announced by the Nigerian Army Chief.
