The Nigerian Army (NA) has relocated its tactical headquarters in Plateau State to the Mangu Local Government Area of the state for two weeks, following the recent assault on the Bi Mper community, where 25 people were killed.
This was made known by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, stating that the move was to directly coordinate a new military operation codenamed Operation Hard Nut.
He said, ““My tactical headquarters is here. I’m going to be here to have a close view of what is happening and be able to have an on-the-spot assessment, and anyone that comes to disturb the peace here will be removed.
“Establishing a physical presence in Mangu will enable leadership to maintain direct, real-time assessment of the security situation and ensure timely tactical responses.”
He further stated that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, had also approved the deployment of more troops, equipment and other support to strengthen the operation.
More details later.
