Following major improvements by the Oyo State government, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) authorized the resumption of commercial flights at Ibadan's Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport (SLAIA) by granting a provisional operational permit. Air Peace Limited and Overland Airways have announced the start of daily flights between Ibadan and Abuja. Overland Airways will start operating again on December 23, 2025, while Air Peace will start operating again on December 24, 2025.
“Effective December 23, 2025, Overland Airways will commence three weekly services from Ibadan to Abuja on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flights will depart Ibadan for Abuja by 10:30am and Abuja to Ibadan by 12:00pm.”
The chief operating officer of Overland Airways, Aderonke Emmanuel-James, said. “As the pioneer airline on the Ibadan route, Overland Airways is excited to return to Ibadan to continue the excellent flight services we have provided to the people of Ibadan, Oyo State, and Osun State over the past 22 years.”
“We equally wish to congratulate the government of Oyo State for the extensive improvement works at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan.”
According to Air Peace Airlines, the Ibadan flight service will strengthen its dedication to improved domestic connectivity and passenger convenience. Fares on the Ibadan-Abuja route would begin at N95,000, the airline said, giving passengers a dependable and reasonably priced way to travel both during and after the busy holiday season.
In order to handle increased passenger traffic throughout the yuletide period and maintain capacity growth through 2026, Air Peace recently announced the restoration of its Warri operations and the introduction of new frequencies throughout its domestic network.
