The Federal Government has today declared Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th December 2021, and Monday 3rd January 2022, as public holidays to celebrate 2021 Christmas, boxing day, and 2022 New Year celebrations. The Minister of Interior, Abdulrauf Aregbesola made this known in a statement issued through his permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shuaibu Belgore. Aregbesola facilitated with the Christian faithful and all Nigerians both Home and Diaspora calling on Christendom to emulate the Christ-like life and humility.
The Minister said, “We must emulate the life of Jesus Christ in His practice and teachings on humility, service, compassion, patience, peace, and righteousness that His birth signifies.
He added, “This will be the best way to portray Christ and celebrate his birth,”
Aregbesola noted that for any country to develop and prosper, two key indicators are not negotiable, which are peace and security.
He enjoined the Christian faithful to seize this opportunity to pray for God’s intervention in Nigeria as we are currently faced with a multi-facet dimension of security problems in the country.
