Aggrieved protesters on Sunday morning stormed the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA Abuja in protest against the rape allegation leveled against the General Overseer of the Ministry, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
One Busola Dakolo, wife of popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo had alleged that the preacher forcefully raped her when she was young.
In a viral video, Busola claimed she was barely 16 years when the 'man of God' forcefully had his way with her. She further revealed that after taking away her virginity, the pastor raped her few more times.
Irked by the revelations, some concerned individuals and Civil Society Organization commenced mobilization to protest at the Church on Sunday. They displayed placards with various inscriptions such as 'Thou Shall Not Rape", "Your Pastor is not Your God", "Your Response is not robust", "Hold Your Pastors Accountable", and 'Church Should Be A Safe Place Not A Rape Place'.
A Vigil360 correspondent who was on ground to monitor development reported that the protest witnessed huge turnout. He, however, said security agents comprising the police and masked DSS operatives barricaded the area to forestall breakdown of law and order.
Meanwhile, the Pastor in the middle of the storm has denied the allegation, claiming that similar cases were being made to extort money from the church.
When the Police was contacted on why the pastor was yet to be arrested or investigated, they said no formal complaint had been filed against the pastor either by the victim or witness.
