The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has urged stakeholders in the Nigeria capital market to build a market that is fair and transparent in order to attract both local and foreign investors.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Commission’s Director General, Dr Emomotimi Agama, during his Christmas message to the capital market community.

He stated that a transparent capital market would create trust in the investment environment and also thanked participants of the capital market such as issuers, intermediaries, and other market participants’ investors of “their collective efforts in achieving the vision of a robust and competitive capital market.”

Agama also noted that “Remember that we need to remain steadfast and resolute in our determination to have the capital market that we desire.”
