The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday opened applications for 2024/2025 recruitment into several positions in its Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres and applications would end on January 2, 2025.


The NCS also issued a warning which stated that “Our recruitment process is completely FREE and FAIR. We DO NOT charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. If anyone demands payment, they are scammers.”

According to the Service, the basic eligibility requirements for applicants include; Category A: Customs Superintendent (CONSOL 08): Bachelor’s Degree/HND or equivalent, NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate; Category B: Customs Inspector (CONSOL 06): OND, NCE, or equivalent and Category C: Customs Assistant (CONSOL 03/04): Secondary School Certificate with five credits (including English & Mathematics), Trade Test Certificate or relevant proficiency certificates.

Also, other general conditions such as Nigerian citizen by birth, Primary education and First School Leaving Certificate, minimum height: 1.7 meters (male), 1.64 meters (female) and Certificate of State/LGA of origin.

Other requirements are medical fitness, no criminal convictions, secret society/cult membership, or drug addiction.

Applicants are expected to meet requirements, multiple applications could lead to disqualification and applications should be done at htps://recruitment.customs.gov.ng

The NCS informed the general public that shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further screening and falsified documents will lead to disqualification and prosecution.

Recall that the NCs announced that it has secured the approval for the recruitment of 3,927 officers for 2025, in a bid to improve trade facilitation and also bolster the country’s economic recovery efforts.
