The rumor that well-known socialite Samson Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, is dead has been refuted by Akin Abolade, also known as Mr. Lilgaga, an acquaintance of the socialite who was recently engaged in an automobile accident. On Monday, Abolade revealed this information in an Instagram interview with PUNCH Online.
He claims that while Sam Larry was in a deadly collision, he is still alive because he spoke with him a few hours later.
Following a collision on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road in Lagos State, the socialite and music promoter was allegedly admitted to the hospital.
The car carrying Sam Larry, and a trailer was involved in the collision, which is said to have happened early on Saturday morning.
The trailer was severely damaged when the car struck it, according to a widely shared video that went viral on social media.
Sam Larry's bouncer, simply known as Wale, was also reportedly killed in the collision and died on the spot.
After comedian and master of ceremonies Mario Wazobia posted on Instagram pleading for prayers for the music promoter, the incident attracted national attention.
Mario Wazobia wrote, "Pray for Sam Larry," in one post, while another stated that the music promoter had been sent to a hospital after the mishap.
However, there have been multiple rumors that Sam Larry has passed away and that his legs are severely injured, possibly requiring amputation.
"Yes, he's alive and not dead, but his condition cannot be ascertained because of how bad the accident was," Abolade clarified the rumor. After the accident, we had a conversation. I have no doubt that he is still alive.
The associate was unable to confirm the report that his legs were severely wounded and could need to be amputated.
