Following the announcement of 436 new COVID-19 infections, Nigeria has on Sunday recorded over 20,000 Coronavirus cases. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the announcement during its daily updates in Abuja, adding that the new cases were recorded in 18 states. Lagos states recorded the highest with 169 new cases while Oyo and Plateau have 52 and 31 new cases respectively.
In a tweet, NCDC said the country has a total of 20,244 cases, while 6,879 have been discharged and 518 recorded deaths. Other states are Imo, Kaduna, and Ogun with 29, 28, 23 cases, FCT, and Enugu both have 18 new cases each, Bauchi recorded 17, Bayelsa has14, Rivers recorded 8 cases, Osun and Kano have 6 each. Edo and Benue also recorded 5 new cases each, Adamawa has 3, Borno with 2 new cases, while Abia and Ekiti recorded 1 each.
