Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has re-ordered restrictions on gathering in worship places and has ban carnival of any form for fear of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sanwo-Olu ordered that no religious place of worship should exceed 50% of its normal capacity of the venue and should not exceed two hours maximum during the worship sessions.
While issuing the statement, he has also ordered that all carnivals and street parties are by this order banned from holding.
The Governor said, “Concerts, carnivals and street parties are banned in Lagos State until further notice.
He continued that night clubs are also not exempted by this order, and therefore all night clubs must shut down until further notice.
The statement also revealed that “The midnight to 4 a.m curfew imposed by the Federal Government remains in place.
“The protocol of ‘No Mask No Entry’ must be enforced by all public places: Offices, Businesses, Markets, Shops, and so on.
According to the Governor, “All Places of Worship (Churches, Mosques, etc.) must ensure that no gathering exceeds two hours and also that no gathering exceeds 50% of the maximum capacity of the Venue.
“A minimum of 2 meters’ distance should be maintained between seated or standing guests.
“All guests and service providers at events MUST wear nose masks/coverings before entry.”
