Following the suspension of the former Executive Secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof. Usman Yusuf, the Federal Government on Tuesday appointed Mallam Attahiru Ibrahim as the Acting Secretary of the Scheme.
The Head of Media and Public Relations, NHIS, Odoh Onuh made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja. According to the statement, the new acting executive secretary, "until his appointment, was the General Manager in charge of Contributions Management Department at NHIS Headquarters in Abuja."
Recall that Prof. Yusuf was earlier suspended over allegations of fraud. The Minister of Health, Dr. Isaac Adewole had approved his suspension to allow for uninterrupted investigation.
