With assistance from the Darrul Imara Charity Foundation and Endowment, Kano, the Katsina State Government claims to have performed free eye surgery for at least 1,000 underprivileged people. In a statement released in Katsina on Sunday, Hauwa Isha, the Ministry of Health's Public Relations Officer, revealed that the exercise was the second stage. She claims that during February 7–11, 2026, the exercise was successfully conducted at Katsina's Old Market Eye Hospital.
According to her, the government promised the public that the inquiry would be carried out fairly and openly. She asserts that every effort will be made to safeguard the ministry's reputation and guarantee the state's access to high-quality healthcare services.
