President Bola Tinubu has approved a small reorganization of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) cabinet. Sen. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), announced that two ministers will be leaving the cabinet. Mr. Yomi Odunuga, the SGF's Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, signed the statement. He said that Edun, who was both the Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, had been instructed to transfer to Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, who had recently been promoted to the role.
Oyedele used to serve as the ministry's Minister of State. Additionally, Mr. Muttaqha Darma was named by the SGF as the ministerial nominee and minister-designate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
He claims that Ahmed Dangiwa, a former minister, was instructed to turn over the portfolio to the Minister of State. According to Akume, all handover procedures must be finished by Thursday at the latest.
He clarified that the modifications were intended to improve meaningful economic delivery to Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda and to strengthen unity and coordination in administration.
According to the SGF, the president used his authority in accordance with Sections 147 and 148 of the 1999 Constitution (as modified). He continued by saying that the president wished the departing ministers well in their future endeavors and expressed gratitude for their efforts. According to Akume, Tinubu also gave cabinet members assurances that the revitalization process will continue.
