Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has disclosed plans to retire from football in November 2018. The 39-year-old Ivorian international is currently plying his trade with Phoenix Rising in the United States Soccer League and has decided to concentrate on "other projects" when the following season ends in November 2018.

Ivory Coast Coach, Marc Wimot has tendered his resignation to the country's Football Federation after failing to qualify the country for the 2018 FIFA World Cup billed to take place in Russia.  According to Marca, Wilmots departed after six months in charge. The Ivorians' 2-0 home loss to Morocco on Saturday ensued they finished runners-up in their qualifying group and missed out on the tournament in Russia.

Few days after Italy failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Italian FA has sacked the national team coach Gian Piero Ventura. The decision came after an emergency meeting by officials of Italian FA (FIGC) on Wednesday. The FA is also calling for the resignation of President Carlo Tavecchio.
