The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has declared Egypt host of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. This was announced after Egypt won the ticket over South Africa, by 16 to 1 vote.

The 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup which is hosted by The United Arab Emirates will kick off today 5th of January and Finals will be played on 1st of February 2019. The highlight of the tournament will be that of Syria and Palestine which will be played on Sunday 6th of Januaey.

American international Christian Pulisic, regarded as one of the hottest properties in European football, has been signed by Chelsea football club. The 20 years- old, Dortmund player is reportedly bought for £58 million ($74m).

Former Arsenal FC Chairman, Peter Denis Hill-Wood passed away at the age 82 on Friday, The Guardian reports. Hill-Wood who is survived by his wife, Sally, and children Sarah, Julian and Charles was born on 25th February, 1936 in Kensington, London. Educated at Eton College and worked most of his life in the banking industry.

The Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been gifted N2.2m each by Chairman of Dangote group, Aliko Dangote and BUA Group CEO, Abdul Samad as a reward for winning the 11th African Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana last month.
