South Africa’s goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams who is also the captain of the Bafana-Bafana has boast that their defence line has been fortified, saying that the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Moses cannot intimidate them into giving up.. Williams assured that he trust his clubmen of the South African team and are equal to the task of handling Osimhen, Lookman, Simon, he said.
The captain of the Bafana Bafana made these remarks during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
Nigeria is set to clash with South Africa in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal today.
Lookman beibg a forward has netted three goals in the tournament while Osimhen has scored once and won the game-winning penalty in the hard-fought 1-0 win over Ivory Coast.
Simon out of intimidation has also forced an own goal against his Equatorial Guinea team.
Bafana Bafana has kept the goals out with four consecutive clean sheets.
When Williams was asked if he was ready to face the Nigerian Super Eagle, he said, “Definitely. We are looking forward to the challenge. It’s going to be tough but we’ve been facing similar players throughout the tournament and I think our defence has been rock solid.”
“We have defended extremely well as a team. It’s not about me, it’s about the team. We pride ourselves in our defending; you can see our strikers assist us.
“The back four has been amazing throughout the tournament so we know it’s going to be a tough challenge but one that we are looking forward to,” He added.
