Everton has officially announced Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal. The former Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea supremo will take over from caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson after today's game against Arsenal.
The news coming two hours before Everton's Premier League tie with Arsenal and Ancelotti will watch the game unfold from the stands.
The Italian replaces Marco Silva at Goodison Park who was sacked after 18 months in charge earlier this month. His appointment is a huge statement from Everton.
Ancelotti joins the club as one of the most decorated players and manager in the world. Wining three scudetto's and two European Cups as a player and league titles in Italy, France, England and Germany, and three Champions Leagues as a manager.
"Excited to share the news that I am joining Everton FC," Ancelotti tweeted.
"I am delighted to be back in the Premier League and to be part of this historic club.
"Thank you for your trust in me."
