The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have booked a place in next year's U-20 AFCON after defeating Cote D’Ivoire 2-1 in the semi-final of the ongoing WAFU B U20 championship in Niamey.
The seven-time (7) African champions are will be seeking to add to their silverware when they take on the Benin Republic in the final of WAFU on Saturday after defeating Cote D’Ivoire 2-1 in the semi-final.
Five (5) minutes into the game, Daniel Daga's header put the Eagles in front before the Ivorians equalised from a set-piece at the edge of the box. The game ended 1-1 after normal proceedings before an Ibrahim Yahaya effort from the spot at the 111th minute got Nigeria the winner to make it 2-1.
