Henry Nwosu, a 62-year-old former midfielder with the Super Eagles, passed away. Segun Odegbami, a former teammate and 1980 Africa Cup of Nations winner, revealed the midfielder's passing on his media platforms early on Saturday.

The person I refer to as the "Youngest Millionaire" died at 4:00 a.m. today at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, after fighting for his life for five days. He had been in critical care since Wednesday.
"I have to deliver the news of Henry Nwosu MON's passing with great sorrow in my heart. Odegbami commented, "May he rest in peace with our Creator in Heaven."
The youngest member of the 1980 AFCON team, Nwosu, was greatly praised for his part in Nigeria's victory at the Africa Cup of Nations, as the Green Eagles won their first continental championship at home.
The midfield player rose to prominence in Nigerian domestic football and was renowned for his vision, inventiveness, and technical skill.
After he stopped playing football, the former international continued to be involved in the game as a coach and mentor, assisting in the development of younger players.
Days after another legendary character in Nigerian football passed away, Nwosu passed away. Adegboye Onigbinde, a former Super Eagles coach who guided Nigeria to the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan, passed away on March 9 at the age of 88.
Nwosu and Onigbinde were both important players in the Green Eagles' 1980s lineup; Onigbinde was the team's coach from 1982 to 1984.
