Liverpool Coach, Jurgen Klopp has warned Premier League rivals to brace up for a tougher season as his club aim to win the domestic league this season. Klopp who fired the warning while speaking with Skysports hinted that his squad has been improved and made formidable to challenge other teams contending for the trophy this season.
"We will be playing for the championship. We don't start a season by not having any ambitions. We have to have our goals. That's what we did last season. We aimed for the top, and we finished fourth. But I think we have a very good team now"
"We did have a bit of bad luck last season. I think we can play a little bit better. Let's hope everything will work very well and that there isn't much more to improve. We have to work very hard on it and we're doing that" he added.
Liverpool is expected to face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday as the club round up preparation ahead of the commencement of the new season. The Manager of Bayern Munich, Carlo Ancelotti had hailed Klopp's commitment to duty and expressed optimism that the club will qualify for the Champions' League group stage to make the league more competitive
"I think the Champions League this year will be more competitive because there are really important English teams in the competition - United, City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool.
"I hope Jurgen will win in the qualification round and then Liverpool will help make the Champions League more competitive. It will be more difficult to win."
