Senegalese forward Sadio Mane and Nigerian Female Super Star Asisat Oshoala have both been named CAF footballer of the year in both the Male and Female category respectively.
Sadio Mane has beaten Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah and Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez to the CAF African Player of the Year award for 2019.
Mane was a standout player as Liverpool went all the way in the 2018-19 Champions League, while he has also enjoyed a strong start to the 2019-20 Premier League campaign. The Senegal international placed in the top three in each of the previous three years, finishing runner-up to Salah in 2017 and 2018, and third in 2016 when Mahrez came first.
Three-time African Women's Footballer of the Year and FC Barcelona Forward, Asisat Oshoala has scooped the award for the fourth time after triumphing in 2014,'16,'17.
Morocco and Borussia Dortmund full-back Achraf Hakimi has been announced the winner of the 2019 Caf Youth Player of the Year award, beating Nigeria duo of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukweze to the coveted prize.
Hakimi has now won the award twice after clinching it in 2018, while Osimhen claimed the prize in 2015 with Chukwueze yet to taste the individual accolade. This Caf award will be expected to spur the full-back onto better performances for both club and country.
