Ibrahim Musa Gusau has been elected as the new Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President after gathering 52% of the total vote casted during the 78th elective congress in Benin, Edo state.
Gusau who now succeeds Amaju Melvin Pinnick polled 21 of the 22 votes needed in the first ballot ahead of former Ist Vice President Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi who got 12 votes, erstwhile League Management Committee (LMC)Chairman Shehu Dikko with 6 votes, Peteside Idah and Abbah Yola shared two votes each.
However, the former Zamfara FA Chairman was not immediately declared winner after Peteside Idah pressed for a rerun which saw Gusau polled 39 votes and Idah 1 vote while 1 was voided.
