The coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi will feature against Czech Republic in their final pre-World Cup friendly on Wednesday at Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion. Recall that the Leicester City midfielder had suffered a hamstring injury in City’s tie with Crystal Palace on April 28, which saw him miss the rest of the 2017/2018 Premier League season.
The former Genk midfielder also missed Nigeria’s friendlies against Congo DR and England.
“We need him (Ndidi) but we had a protocol from Leicester and my friend Claude Puel, who gave me very good information with the medical team.
“We followed exactly the protocol the medical team by Leicester gave to us.
“We don’t think it was the moment for him to play but he will start the next game but I hope if he plays against Czech Republic, he will be fit and ready on June 16,” Rohr said after the 2-1 loss to England.
