Russia launched its biggest air assault on Ukraine since the war began in February 2022. Overnight from Saturday to Sunday, it fired 367 drones and missiles. At least 12 people were killed and dozens injured. Ukraine’s Air Force said it shot down most of them, 266 drones and 45 missiles, but many regions were still hit. Attacks continued into Sunday night, though at a smaller scale. Ukraine reported drone activity but said all threats were handled by early morning. In Odesa, a residential building was destroyed by a Russian drone strike, causing fires and damage. Former U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin on social media, calling him “absolutely CRAZY.” Trump said Putin is “needlessly killing people” and warned that taking all of Ukraine could lead to Russia’s downfall. He also told reporters he’s unhappy with Putin and is considering new sanctions.
Trump adds: "I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!"
In separate comments to reporters on Sunday night, Trump said: "I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him a long time. Always gotten along with him.
"But he's sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don't like it at all."
Asked if he was considering more sanctions on Russia, Trump said: "Absolutely."
