Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested and extradited from the United Kingdom (UK). This was announced by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) in a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, saying Kanu was brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.
He noted that the arrest was following a joint operation by the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of States Services (DSS) and Interpol, adding that Kanu is facing charges ranging from treasonable felony, terrorism, unlawful possession of firearms, and management of an unlawful society at the Federal High Court.
Vigil360news reports that Kanu fled the UK in May over the fear of arrest after the Federal Government officially requested for his arrest and extradition from the UK.
