Troops of the 8th Division of the Nigerian Army in Sokoto State have neutralized a notorious bandit kingpin, Kachalla Kallamu, in the Sabon Birnin Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
A reliable source, who pleaded anonymity, stated that Kallamu, a close ally and senior lieutenant of the notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, was killed during an operation in collaboration with local vigilantes.
According to the source, Kallamu was killed alongside one of Turji’s major logistics suppliers in the early hours of Monday around Kurawa village.
Reports suggest that Kallamu recently returned to the area after running away from a prior military assault in June 2025, with speculations that he sought refuge in Kogi State.
