Members of Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has called on the Federal Government to release the Convener of ‘Revolution Now’ movement, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, and other Nigerians arrested during the August 5 protest.

The Arewa Youth Federation has distanced itself from the call for revolution, advising youth from the region against making themselves available to be used by enemies of the state.

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS on Monday berated Omoyele Sowore and his fellow organizers of the Revolution Now march over ongoing protest, describing their action as akin to a coup against a democratic government.

The nation's secret Police expressed readiness to release the Islamic leader in compliance with the court order.

Following its support of the #RevolutionNow Protest across major streets in Nigeria, Civil Society Organizations (CSO) under the aegis of the Concerned Citizens’ on Monday, 5th August 2019 appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to expel Amnesty International from Nigeria. The group made the call at a conference held at the Organizations headquarters in Abuja.

The Presidency has on Sunday accused Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka of blackmail and playing double standard for condemning the arrest of an activist, Omoyele Sowore.
