The Nigerian Army has advised Nigerians to be vigilant as fleeing members of Boko Haram may recruit suicide bombers to carry out attacks on churches, Mosques, markets and recreation centres among others. The Army made this known on Saturday in a statement issued by its spokesman, Brigadier General Sani Usman.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met behind closed-door with heads of security agencies in the country as part of efforts to address growing insecurity across parts of the country. The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.) on Tuesday in Abuja, held a crucial meeting with heads of internal security agencies over the herdsmen killings and other security challenges in the country. Speaking shortly before the meeting commenced, Dambazau expressed concern over the current security situation in the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday assured Nigerians that increasing cases of killings being carried out by suspected herdsmen in communities across the country would soon be brought under control. He said security agents deployed to affected areas would achieve the feat in no distant time.
