The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has urged the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to publish declared assets by the public and civil servants.

Gunmen have murdered retired Inspector General of Police Christopher Dega, Senior Special Assistant on Security to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom. The incident occurred on Monday night in the Bukuru area in Jos South LGA, of Plateau State, where the victim was shot dead by the assailants. The Plateau state Police commissioner Edward Ebuka, told Channels Television that preliminary investigation revealed that the retired Assistant Inspector General who left Makurdi was trailed to Jos where he was shot dead. According to the police boss, some suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime and investigations are ongoing.

President Muhammadu Buhari has issued a sturdy charge to Security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the over 100 children kidnapped from an Islamic school in Niger state. The president condemned the latest incident as "unfortunate" while directing the agencies to secure their "immediate release", Presidential spokesperson Mallam Garba Shehu said on Twitter on Tuesday. The Police in Rivers State, has confirmed an explosion in the popular mile 3 market in Port Harcourt on Monday morning. The incident which reportedly occurred around 6:30 am fortunately did not result to any lost of life, but the explosion left many persons injured. A source within the market area gave an account of the incident. He said the unfortunate explosion caused panic in the market as traders and commuters scampered for safety.
