The Federal Government of Nigeria has today declared Monday, 3rd May, as a public holiday to celebrate international workers day.
Minister of the interior, Abdulrauf Aregbesola, made the declaration today on behalf of the Federal Government through the permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shuaibu Belgore.
While congratulating Nigerian workers for yet witnessing another round of workers' day, the minister commended Nigerian workers for their resilience and patience, understanding, and support towards the administration of President Buhari.
The minister urged the workers to show more commitment and dedication towards their official duties with patriotism, promising that the labor challenge they are facing currently would soon be over.
Aregbesola added that the current administration is committed to workers' welfare as well as securing the lives and properties of Nigerians.
In his statement, “Government is putting all strategies in place to curb the challenges of insecurity in the country.
He reiterated that “I, therefore, call on the labor force and all patriotic citizens to be fully committed to the task of putting insecurity to a permanent end as much as possible,”.
