The Parents of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu were finally laid to rest today at their country home of Afaraukwu community in Abia state.
Amidst all the gathering, the IPOB leader was missing during the burial ceremony.
Kanu’s Parent, HRH Eze Israel Kanu and his wife, Ugoeze Sally Kanu both died last year, were committed to the mother earth today Friday in his royal compound, Afaraukwu community in Abia state.
Nnamdi Kanu’s brake lights were last seen in Nigeria since September 10th, 2017 when the military men from the operation Python Dance visited him in his country home state of Afaraukwu, Abia State.
Emma Powerful, the spokesperson of the proscribed IPOB group while speaking Daily Post informed the newsmen that their leader did not grace the ceremony was based on persuasion that he should not come.
His statement partly reads; “Our leader is much engaged with diplomatic moves for Biafra restoration, we begged him not to come home, let those at home bury his parents.
He listens to his people, that’s why he changed his mind,”
After disappearing in a controversial way in 2017 out of Nigeria, the IPOB leader resurfaced in Israel beside a wailing wall dressed in regalia used in Jewish in performing their religious rituals.
Kanu was arraigned in court by the Department of State Services (DSS) over a treasonable felony and terrorism for running a state inside a state, Kanu jumped bail after his release was secured by Senator Eyinaya Abaribe.
Nnamdi Kanu was arraigned alongside his allies, Chidibere Onwdiwe, Benjamin Madugugwu and David Nwawuisi, the IPOB leader has continued to remain at large.
