The spokesman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Lanre Issa-Onilu has slammed those making commentaries on Boko Haram activities, Kidnapping and banditry, saying it is unfortunate that such comments are assuming ethnoreligious slant which is largely being influenced by partisan narratives by short-sighted individuals. Mr Issa-Onilu said the trend needs to be checked by all concerned who believed in the Nigerian project.

In his statement, he described these people as godless who are determined to stoke religious sensitivities by pitching Christians and Muslims against one another through their recent pattern of cowardly attacks,”


According to him, this has demonstrated how immoral the dreaded Boko Haram and their sponsors have become calling on Nigerians to resist this kind of ploy.


The APC spokesperson added, that the terrorist is our common enemy in Nigeria and are blind to any religious or political affiliation and should be treated as such.


MR Onilu called on the leaders at all strata, both political, religious, traditional and well-meaning Nigerians who wish this country remain safe to exercise restrain whenever they are making public utterances that are capable is causing disunity.

Saying doing otherwise will mean acting the script of the terrorist which is to divide us along religious and political divide.


He said in 2015 and the subsequent re-electing of president Buhari into office in 2019 by Nigerians were of the hope that Mr Buhari will bring the desired stability into the country. Currently, there is no even an inch of the Nigerian soil that is in the control of Boko Haram, the criminals are currently suffering much casualties as military are trying their best.
