President Bola Tinubu is expected in Kano today (Friday) to pay a condolence visit to the government and people of the state, as well as the family of the late elder statesman, renowned businessman, and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata. This was revealed in a statement issued on Thursday by the governor's spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa. The president's visit comes in the wake of the recent death of the respected industrialist.
Tofa described the visit as a gesture of "national unity and respect" for both the people of Kano and the enduring legacy of the late Dantata.
He urged citizens to uphold Kano's long-standing values of hospitality and reverence for leadership by welcoming the president respectfully.
"This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect.
"I urge all Kano residents to receive the President warmly and in an orderly manner, as he joins us in mourning one of our greatest elder statesmen,"
the statement quoted Governor Abba Yusuf as saying.
The statement also noted that adequate security and logistics measures have been arranged to ensure the visit proceeds smoothly and respectfully.
