The Academic Staff Union of the Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has concluded a plan to extend its industrial action for another two months. Daily Trust reports that ASUU has concluded its plan during a meeting of last night at yet to be disclosed location that the academicians are determined that they will hold the government hostage until their demands are met. The statement said,” I can tell you that deliberations are still ongoing as far as our warning strike is concerned, but it is most likely that we extend the strike by 8 weeks,”

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that it has registered over 500,000 candidates for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Students of tertiary institutions under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday protested in parts of the country, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, where they grounded activities of the Federal Ministry of Education. The students, who demanded an immediate end to the ongoing strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) threatened to continue protesting indefinitely, until their demand is met.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the mock examination for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which was earlier scheduled to hold on April 16 would now hold on April 9.
