The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the results of the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) would be released on June 23. This was disclosed during a news conference in Enugu by the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede.

The Federal Government has announced the approval of N18 billion as a take-off grant for 4 new universities. This was disclosed at a press conference on Monday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Sunday Echono.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 25 centres scheduled to hold the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). The board said the decision to delist the centres was due to glitches recorded at the affected centres during the 2021 UTME exercise which kicked off on Saturday.

This was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by the union’s National Secretary, Abdullahi Yalwa titled, “Suspension of the national strike of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics.”

The governing board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved the appointment of Mr. Ebikibina John Ogborodi as the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO. Mr. Ogborodi's appointment is as a result of his predecessor's death, Professor Godswill Obioma on Tuesday 1st June 2021 after battling a brief illness.
