The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) disclosed that the registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Direct Entry (DE) examination would kick off by February 12, 2022.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned potential candidates against being scammed because it has not yet commenced the sale of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) forms. This was disclosed in a statement signed by JAMB’s Head of Media and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, which stated that any claims regarding the sale of forms, was fraudulent and should be ignored.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that candidates below the age of 18 years are not required to produce COVID-19 vaccination cards before being allowed into JAMB examination halls and facilities. This was disclosed in a statement signed by JAMB's head of the Media and Protocol Unit, Fabian Benjamin.

The (NOUN) on Thursday matriculated 72 inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre, Abuja to study various courses. The Vice-Chancellor, NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters, urged the students to make use of their study materials judiciously. The VC who was represented by the National Coordinator, Special Studies, NOUN, Mrs Modupe Adesina, described the collaboration between NOUN and NCoS as very smooth.

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has deferred the earlier planned strike action, saying it has not finished its consultation.
This was made known by the union officials shortly after its National Executive council meeting.
The meeting was held at the University of Abuja, Festus Iyayi National Secretariat of ASUU during the weekend to review the level of government readiness in the implementation of its FGN-ASUU memorandum of understanding of December 23, 2020, and other related issues surrounding the academicians. Contained in a press statement titled, “Enough of this Blackmail” signed by the president of the Union, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, the academicians stated that the federal government has declined its earlier commitment on the plan of setting up an Inter-ministerial Committee to review the draft Renegotiated 2009 FGN-ASUU Agreement.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has given the Federal Government a fresh three-week notice of indefinite strike action, saying the strike is a resumption of the strike it suspended last year.
The Union alleged that some government officials including the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono are attempting to discredit the draft agreement reached by the federal government and the union in 2020.
