The Federal Government has on Monday announced that it will be empowering 20 million Nigerian youths with education, training and employment over the next few years. Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo made the announcement during the official inauguration of the “Generation Unlimited” (GenU) programme, a global multi-sector initiative between the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), the government and private sector.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as the New Registrar/ Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO). Prof. Wushishi will replace Prof. Godswill Obioma who passed away in May. The Head of Public Relations and Information, Azeez Sani confirmed the appointment in a statement, saying the new appointment is to run for five years with effect from July 12, 2021.

The Senate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has requested all her students to vacate their hostel and halls of residence before 12 noon on Thursday, 15th July 2021 to help curtail the spike of COVID-19 cases on campus, during an emergency meeting held on Wednesday 14th, July 29021 by the school Senate after some student tested positive of the novel virus.

Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle Maradun has approved the release of ₦100 million to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) as payment to enable students in the state to write the 2021 examinations and also clear the huge backlogs owed WAEC by past administrations.
