The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has condemned the attack by terrorist in Mafa, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, which led to the death of 34 persons. Chairman of the forum who is also Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who spoke on behalf of the group expressed outrage over the attack, describing it a senseless violence that has inflicted immense grief on the affected families and communities.
This was contained in a statement made available by the group spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, saying Governor Yahaya has applauded the security forces for their relentless efforts towards ensuring that the remnant of terrorist groups is purged out. However, he stressed the need for concerted efforts in tracking and apprehending those responsible for the atrocity, as well as others operating across the region.
“This brutal act must not go unpunished. I urge security agencies to intensify their efforts to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice,” Governor Yahaya stated.
