The Nigerian Air Force revealed it has continued its counterterrorism operation with new airstrikes that killed multiple fighters and destroyed a terrorist enclave in Borno State. According to the NAF, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted the operation near Yaganari in the Gezuwa general region on July 10 in response to reliable information of resumed terrorist activity. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Force's Director of Public Relations and Information, said in a statement on Saturday that intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations verified the existence of terrorist facilities and logistical centers prior to the targets being attacked.
“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement read.
The NAF said the latest operation further degraded the terrorists’ ability to regroup and move freely, describing it as another major success in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism. He added that the Armed Forces remained on course to consolidate the gains recorded in ongoing operations against terrorist groups across the country.
