The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Fasin Yamma, has neutralized no fewer than 95 terrorists in a series of precision airstrikes conducted near Ragada and Warari villages in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State. According to a source, NAF fighter jets intercepted the terrorists at approximately 1500 hours on Tuesday. The militants were reportedly traveling from Zamfara State, transiting through Kebbi State, and heading towards Niger State.
It was revealed that the terrorists were riding in a convoy of 108 motorcycles and were heavily armed with sophisticated weapons. Their destination was believed to be Warari and other parts of Rijau Local Government Area.
The airstrike was carried out between the villages of Ragada and Warari, at coordinates 10° 54′ 1.51” N and 5° 25′ 4.96” E. According to the source, only 13 motorcycles managed to escape the assault, while the rest, along with their riders, were destroyed.
Residents of Makuku, Warari, and Ragada have expressed gratitude to the federal government and the Nigerian military for the successful operation, lauding their commitment to ending banditry and restoring peace in the northwest region.
