Former Chelsea midfielder, Claude Makelele has recommended that his former club sign Victor Osimhen in this summer transfer. According to him, the Blues are in dare need of a more firepower upfront following another underwhelming campaign. For the past two seasons, a Senegal international Nicolas Jackson has been responsible for-scoring goal for the West London club.
In 68 appearances for Chelsea Football Club, Jackson has netted 26 goals.
Enzo Maresca’s side is expected to sign a new striker at the end of the current campaign.
Makelele, who is also a Chelsea legend for five years, insisted that he would love to see Osimhen at the Stamford Bridge.
While talking to talkSPORT, “He (Osimhen) is a finisher. I think for the way Chelsea plays, they need this kind of striker to have a presence in the box”.
“I think he will be the best option for Chelsea.”
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray has recorded 26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds.
